PRO MED Medical Care Centers have been serving the Austin community for over 30 years. The first of its kind in Texas, the original Austin based clinic known as Minor Emergency Center opened its doors in January 1977. A new concept in the prompt treatment of urgent, non-life threatening medical conditions, this clinic offered an alternative to crowded hospital emergency rooms with long waits. The early Minor Emergency Clinics helped change the delivery of medical services to patients who historically had to wait for scheduled appointments to see their own private physician.

As regulatory needs for industries in the Austin area became apparent, PRO MED became involved in pilot drug screening programs and also addressed the needs of employers to provide appropriate work injury care for many Austin based companies. See our Occupational Medicine section.

The centers continued to address the needs of the community over the years, expanding their services to provide School and Sports Physicals, Immigration physicals, Immunizations including Flu Vaccines, as well as Travel Health Services.

With an experienced group of medical staff and licensed physicians, as well as lab and x-ray facilities in-house, the three Austin area PRO MED Medical Care Centers can promptly care for many of the urgent care needs of the citizens of Austin, TX.
